Considering the two routes

Should I chicken out, à la Trump, or go for crossing the Biscay? The Bay of Biscay and the English Channel require experience. Yesterday I made myself available to go with a Swede from A Coruña, across Biscay and through the English Channel (why isn’t it called the French Channel). If I am lucky I will jump on a flight to A Coruña in a couple of days.

The other option is to take the channels through Europe and emerge in the Mediterranean at Marseille.

Time is also a factor in this choice, as the channels are quicker. Although going on the outside also means I can cover many more coastal cities to meet with more wind and solar developers, which is the main ambition with the trip.

Including an experienced sailor for more challenging legs could be the solution.
